How do you make the speedometer work smoothly 700

On my 90 740 Wagon the jerky needle was casued by intermittent continuity at the electrical connector to the sensor at the differential. The wires going into the connector break off over time. I have had to jury rigged it twice but it works for now.

So you might check that.
