Coolant Problems? Try a Meat Thermometer First 200 1979

I discovered a new way to measure coolant temperature with a simple meat thermometer. It's easy and costs nothing. Would someone tell me if this trick has been done before? I haven't heard of it until necessity made me think of it.

Unfortunately, I spent a lot of time and money on a new radiator, hoses and nearly a new pump and fan clutch before I figured it out. As it turned out, the defective part was the Voltage Stabilizer Ð an inexpensive part.
