Was that at low speed or?

If it was at low speed, it probably isn't a big deal. The trans had enough pressure when it went into reverse to kill the engine. Obviously once the engine is off it doesn't have the pressure and disengages.

I would avoid letting it happen again, though you are probably on top of that already.
