Girling or ATE? 140-160

For no reason at all, I like the ones that are on my 68 144
more than the ones that are on my 70 164. I don't remember
which is which, though. Both are on solid rotors (the 164
didn't get the vented rotors till later) but one is ate and
the other is the big G. It may be the PBR pads I've got on
the 144 that make the difference, and it may be my impressions
from having swapped pads on both (something like "ick that was
icky" when I did the 164 and "wow, that was tidy" on the 144).
But I changed the pads a long time ago and I don't even
remember if I did it in the shade or not.

Mostly I don't think it matters, just get the same on
both sides and don't worry about it. I wouldn't worry about
going to vented, though. Some people think that it is a
help, but my 164 stops just fine on solid rotors and my
impression from looking at the vented setups in junk yards
is that the pad area is actually smaller on the vented vs
the solids.

Regardless, the brakes on the 140/160 cars are very good and
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options out there.
