turbo problems, any more ideas? 700 1992

The first thing you should do is remove and inspect all the turbo air plumbing (before and AFTER the turbo) sounds like leaks to me (whining, air rushing,smoke). This is very common.

Unless you aren't running synthetic oil and abuse the turbo (no idle down, etc)there should be no reason the turbo would take a shit at 99,000 miles.
