While you are waiting for someone to say they've had the same thing happen to them, I can 'relay' a couple of wiring facts: The starter wiring is common with the thermal timer and cold start injector. The heater fan switch position 1 is wired to the A/C relay, such that the compressor won't engage without the fan switched on. The compressor's clutch is paralleled with a vacuum solenoid designed to compensate for the idle drop caused by the A/C. The solenoid is top center on the firewall. Both circuits are in the engine compartment wiring harness, though I think this is pretty solid for your model year. I don't know if a particular ground, like the blower motor's, could, if loose, cause your symptom-- the solenoid's ground is at its mounting screw; the clutch and starter are grounded through the block.
