Avoiding the need for the 'Jiggle Test'

Synthetic oil will keep the flame trap free of crud. My 740 has run Mobil 1 for 90,000 miles over a number of years and, while I inspect it regularly, the flame trap has never needed to be cleaned. The throttle body, yes, but not the flame trap: no gunk, no crud.
