I like your website idea, but the notion that
VOLVO=STRONG CAR=TOTALLY DEMOLISHES OTHER CARS IN CRASHES
WHILE SUSTAINING ONLY SCRATCHED PAINT
is slightly inaccurate.
The Volvo passenger compartment is very strong, and that's a compelling reason to own one. But the front and rear body sections are purposely designed to absorb the energy of a collision by crumpling up. So it is possible to headon a 240 and a '73 Lincoln Town Car and have the Volvo end up looking absolutely horrible.
But of the two cars, the Volvo is the one I'd prefer to be in.
The real test of safety is how the car's occupants, not the cars themselves, look, after a crash.
That said, the 240s, especially with the older-style aluminum "commando" bumpers, are absolutely amazing at shrugging off body damage at low, nonlethal speeds.
