regardless of other posts I agree with Steve 700

No reason not to introduce direct cooling to the relay board, and to be honest I'm surprised by the apparent resistance of the earlier posts.

Sure, I can resolder and even replace the relays and sockets with new ones. Hell, I did this just this past weekend and I'm actually waiting on the delivery of a number of smaller (windows, lights) relays right now (as I stated, $6 - $9 online makes it worth just replacing IMHO).

However, I think we all know that even relays and sockets in PERFECT condition run hot on the bricks (my reconditioned ones are running hot right now). The distance between optimal and meltdown is, in my opinion, WAAAAY to close for comfort. Hell, I'm actually attentive to this and I STILL suffered the meltdown of my headlight and aux light relay sockets just last week.

I guess my point is that yeah, sure, this is an add-on and may not be for everybody, but why on earth wouldn't you want to provide assistance to the cooling of the relays with a simple fix? We aren't talking about running some kind of liquid or freon based heat sink through the board here, we're talking about screwing in a cpu fan 2" square and crimping it into the lighter wiring. This is like a 5-10 minute operation that I would trust my kid brother to perform.

I would think this would be even more prudent in a car driven by a family member who can't be relied upon to check the relays or even understand what the hell a relay is. As the old adage states, "better safe than sorry."

Kudos to you steve.
