The 3M aerosol product did look and apply blacker and thicker. I had lots of problems, though, with the nozzle clogging within a few seconds of spraying (I suppose that's why 3M includes a second nozzle in the cap). Only removing the glogged nozzles and soaking briefly in mineral spirits cleaned them. But, whay a nuisance in an already messy job!

(the 3M also dripped more readily than the house brand)

And it was three times the cost of the store brand.
