84 Engine vs 87 Engine 200 1987

Ok, lets see if I get this, from what I have been reading the 1984 is a B23 engine and the 1987 is a B230. The FI's are not the same, 84 - LH 2.0 and the 87 is the LH 2.2. I think you can put the B23 in place of the B230 but would have to go with the 87 FI. I have an 85 with a B23 instead of the B230, someone blew the first engine and someone else replaced it with what I got. Transmissions should be the same. Correct me if I am wrong guru's.
