Tire explodes, strange

I was working on the brakes and took the two front tires (Michelin) off. I've had them off for about a week. Today, I find a one tire has a huge hole and treads coming out. The hole is big, I can put my hand in the tire. Looks like it just exploded (was still off the car).

Since I just got the car, I never checked the tire pressure. There is no fix a flat gunk in there. The temp was in the 90's today, but I'm still dumb founded.
