What do you mean by that "long" shift, are you talking about how much the shifter has to be moved from 1-2?, or the fact that 1ts gear is just a really short gear, (you cant go fast in it). And I would shorten the waste gate rod to obtain more boost. 2.5 turns is about 2 psi i think. Just pop the clip of the end, (dont loose it) and turn the rod in 2.5 turns. You will probable have to pull the acuator a bit to get the rod back on. When I got my volvo rebuilt turbo, it was set a 4 PSI. I dont know why, I wonder if its a break in thing.
