240 TC Board

Does anyone have any experience with replacing the TC board on a 240? The guage is erraticly reading and the thermostat has been replaced. I saw where
the part is only 20 dollars online, but the dealer says 240! If anyone can tell me if this can be done by a person with only minor mechanical ability it would be most helpful, I'll be your friend for life. thanks in advance
