Last week after vandals broke the driver's side window of my wife's 740 and ripped off only the CD faceplate, I replaced the window with a junkyard one and applied tint/film on the inside of the window. This film is needed here in South Texas to keep out sunlight and help the AC keep the car cool.
The film glues to the inside of the window and after 3 days the top edge may be rolled down below the rubber lips at the bottom of the glass. No problema.
Of course, professional installation is best ($100 for a new installation) but DIY can be done for $5 per window if you are not looking for show-stopping quality.
Anybody north of the Mason/Dixon line use this stuff?
Take care,
el Raidman
