The CARFAX thing was interesting, I ran my 88 745 through it and discovered that it had been in an accident in 1991 when it lived in North Carolina. I also discovered that I think I am the 5th owner. (I bought the car over a year ago for $1200, not running, no history, no records)

My wife's Acura was a lease car (leased by us) before we bought it at the end of the lease. CARFAX did not pick this up, even though they have a special blurb about former leases.
