Can you hear the pump run for a couple of seconds when you turn the key on?

Is it getting spark?

BTW - The other day I was checking for fault codes in socket 2 and got a light when pushing the button, but no response flashes. Tried it a few times and then it started working fine. Wierd. Probably like Herbst says - a flaky connection or something.
