Engine support - cheap 200 1983

After looking at the contraption in the service manual a while I came up with this $15.00 investment. The perf channel is 12 gauge electrical strut I found at the home center for $11.47. Bought the biggest hook I saw there.

After using it to lift the engine slightly and removing the pan (another story), this is what I found.

I have complete records from the previous owner, so I know the motor ran for 55K like this, with shop tickets indicating "use Castrol 20W50" and so on after the dirty deed was accomplished. You see it here with 301K on it and half a dozen changes of Mobil 1 10W30. Oil pressure dropped below the 7psi of the switch at idle after warming up only a few minutes.
