window and other interchangability between 242 and 142 140-160 1969

Hi all,
I recently acquired a few volvos a 1969 142s (parked for about 20 years but NO rust (except under battery) and no dents and mostly complete. And a 1981 242 turbo. well the turbo was crashed and I bought it for the engine, so I have the body to dispose of, well when I got my 142 the rear windows were disattached form the latches (look to have originaly been glued on) well I was fairly unhappy about this but today after spending most of the day dismantleing the 242 I decided to try and see if the windows would fit, since the 242 windows had nice latches that screwed through the glass. Well they fit perfectly and I sorta like the blacked out look, I think I am going to do the blacked out look to the remaining window trim.
Well I dot to thinking since the vent windows in the 142 don't lock or latch or anything (and aren't even attached at the top) and I know I could remove the vent windows, and I measured the doors to see if I could swap windows and mechanism and they look to be exactly the same size. I took off both door panels and although there are differences I beleive that if I removed all of the mechanism from the 142 I could put the 242 mechanism in there rather simply. The 242 has power windows which I would have no problem wiring in.
My question is, can I do this? is it ill-advised? could I also do the door locks at the same time(I don't see why not) I want my car to look stock on the outside and VERY few people would notice the lack of vent windows. I also wanted to swap the rear windows as the 142 is inevitable going to fog up and the 242 window has a defrost grid in great shape.
Also I found a bunch of new old engine parts in the trunk and would offer them to you guys before E-bay: New set of std b20 pistons with rings and pins and clips, new set of gears, extra steel gear (also new), IPD cam box says 6 grind on the end (is probably from early 80s), set of new lifters, set of new valves (not sure if intake or exhaust but appear to be exhaust valves. I also have a set of used SU's with intake and exhaust, MANY new gaskets but not a complete set as mich ruined a few (like the head gasket!), a short block in what appears to be good shape for a rebuild (I'll make a great DEAL with the engine parts) I also have the head (a carb head), entire exhaust system in good to exc condition, Anyway all of these parts are in Corvallis, Oregon if you are interested I can make someone a great deal if they take it all. I also will have a set of steel wheels with one PERFECT tire and rest cracked and old and a set of hub caps (all of wheel stuff for $15). I also will have MANY 242 parts if you need any. and much extra glass if you need any.
Thanks!
