We once had a push-button ignition put in our old mazda many years ago, after the ignition switch had gone bad. The guys at the shop thought it was a good idea, and it worked great. You had to have the key in and in the "on" position, or it wasn't going anywhere. It worked so good in fact, that when we brought the car in for servicing a month or two later, the same guys at the same shop had to call us and ask how to start the car! Good luck.
WHY would anyone steal an 81 Volvo? I mean, to most people, they aren't worth stealing. I don't think I've ever heard of that one before.
