What's the difference between 960 and 940?

I am in the market, hunting for a nice Volvo Wagon. Last night, I just checked out a 97' 960. It's a good car, but I doubted its reliablity as well. Your post is very helpful. I think I am going for 940 wagon. However, one thing is very annoying - the latest 940 wagon was made in 1995. So, it's hard to find a mint one - well serviced, with reasonable mileage, good body....
Here is a car I will check out this Sat. Would you please give me some suggestion how to test drive this car, and how to check it? The more in details, the better. Thanks!
