Lee, do you mean that it is better for Volvo to use euro-oil? I used to have Castrol or Mobil but have switch to Agip HTS for last 10 months for the availability and price reason (Mobil-1 cost 11$/qt, Agip HTS $6,75/qt). I'm going to use Opaljet 24S since it is cheaper, $4,3/qt, and have a very high recommendation from Peugeot,Renault,Citroen and other top eurocar manufacturer.
