Yes, it will fit, but you will also need to change the shift linkage. If the M46 is from a turbo car you will also need to remove the bell housing and move the ball stud which the throwout bearing arm levers on. If this is the case, you will want to have a new front transmission gasket on hand, part number 1340989-1, and about $8 US.
