Need to mod car for towing?

I am not into fruitless mods. However, I am interested in setting up a B230 equiped wagon for towing. I would like to add an engine and tranny oil coolers as well as some type of oil gauges. What else should I consider? Would running synthetic be advisable for towing? Fuel additives? Different springs? Any advise would be appreciated.
