Bad Vibrations 700 1986

Could be the tires, or something left in 'em. Years I had a similar problem with a fresh set of tires- so bad that a friend said the suspect wheel appeared to be hopping off the ground. Took the vehicle (a pickup) back to the garage, they rebalanced. Better, but still vibrating horribly. Took it back again, same result, but by now the wheel had a truly absurd row of weights hung on it. Finally on the next orbit the "old geezer" mechanic was there, and insisted on dismounting the tire. Inside, voila, an enormous roll of rubber, which turned out to be a liner for the rim on certain application and which weighed maybe three pounds. Problem solved!
