my volvo does it on right turns when i turn it about 25 degrees. i had it checked out by my mechanic. he looked at the rack while i turned it, and just said that it was the rack and pinion aging and not to worry about it.

i think my valve cover gasket was put on dry by my cousin, hasn't leaked in 2 years yet. just be sure to torque the nuts properly.
