Just repaired detached magnet in wiper motor. Turned on car and wipers now work continuously whether switch setting on or off. This continued for a few minutes then wipers siezed and fuse blew again. Opened motor casing again to see if magnet still attached... it is. I found several of the T-shaped cardboard pieces laying at the bottom of the motor. These are the pieces that sit atop the motor armature magnets. It was probably one these pieces that cause the motor to sieze and blow fuse.

Questions:
1) Are the T-shaped pieces necessary? Will the motor short-circuit or otherwise have problems working properly without them?
2) Why would the motor run continuosly regardless of the position setting of the switch?
3) In the gearbox attached to wiper motor there are a couple nylon discs with three bronze contacts resting on them. What is the proper position for these bronze pieces to be at?
4) Does anyone have any links to or detailed pictures of the internal workings of the wiper motor / gearbox / wiring?
