What a surprise... a #5. Did you try resetting the system?

The #5 often shows up when there has been a jumpstart, voltage drop, or battery cable corrosion. Clean the battery terminals and any connections AT the battery terminals. Read the codes out and reset them per the FAQ (again if you already tried). See if it goes away.

I'm not sure if a 5 is a bad airbag unit or not, but that sounds somewhat familiar. most of the SRS lights are not serious problems. Even a bad airbag is only a $100 problem if you can get a good one from a salvage yard. A new one is several hundred, though.
