I may be a wuss, but I'm afraid of coil springs blowing my head off too. And I'm not comforted by the fact that they are old Volvo springs.
Steve M. doesn't have to worry about this on his steering linkage jobs, but when you start fooling with the control arms(A-arms) it becomes an issue. Got to control the energy in that spring somehow.
