While you're at it you might as well get the check valve so the residual pressure doesn't fall so quickly. It'll make it easier to start.
You're sure your replacement injector isn't leaking? And the rest of them? If you're covering up some intake hose and things improve, I would really first think there's an intake leak somewhere.
You checked the fuel pressure, so you've got the fittings that will let the gauge sit between the fuel distributor and control pressure regulator, right? This is how the Bentley recommends checking residual pressure.
If so all you need now is something to tell you what the pressure should be for a given temperature. You just need three things to check the CPR now. The last three digits of the part number (079, 123, or 128), the barometric pressure (if your CPR's PN ends in 128), and the coolant temperature.
