Please HELP! 240T fuel Dist. on my VW!

I've a drawing in the factory manual showing the connections, but it does not make any distinction based on the size of the banjo bolt head.

Viewing the warm up regulator from the top with the fuel line connections on the right, the inlet is the bolt toward the rear, arriving from the top of the fuel distributor; the CPR's outlet is at the front, piped to the back side of the distributor next to the return line, just as you described in your post.

If still uncertain, I have a n/a model I suspect has the same banjo bolts on the CPR, I could take a look.
