My 240DL is eating alternators!

Not sure the exact year that Volvo went to the Bosch alternators with the built in regulator, but I thought it was around the mid 80's.

The continuing alternator saga is very descriptive of a poor frame ground conection in your electrical system. Whether a strap has corroded, broke off, or not hooked back up after working on the car needs to be confirmed. Get a copy of the major grounding positions for your car and check them out. The Bentley manual has a few pages and diagrams on this.

If you discover that I am completely off base on this, let me know, I'm open to learn something new anytime.
