No. 240 turbos do not have an AMM or an RPM sensor (unless you count the tachometer). There is an airflow meter at the opposite end of the engine compartment. I'd check to make sure the IAC responds to electrical input. Then I'd make sure your "rough" fuel mixture adjusment is proper (or did you already do this whole adjusting the idle mixture with the engine off?). If your IAC was all stuffed up and you suddenly fixed it, perhaps the idle mixture was set to assume lots more air than there is now.
