whats the difference between independant rear suspension and multi link?

The multilink is an IRS system, but there ane a number of arms and links connected with the system. Mercedes and BMW also use similar systems. Basically IRS means that each wheel is independently sprung while the typical solid rear end has both wheels attatched to each other and work as a unit. You will find the IRS a much nicer performing system, IMHO.
