I run the same voltage as you at 14 - 15 psi. I think the info you got from dawes is protectively extra safe, I get worried if I see the voltage below 8.4 - 8.3 vlts. Have you done any searches to see what other articles have to say about safe voltage levels read from the O2 sensor? If not I think you may find them enlightening and you will be able to crank up your boost. Problem solved.
