245 overcharging, why?

If your charging voltage is over 14.5-15, then there's a problem with your regulator. You might want to have your battery checked, too... if it's discharging so much that it needs high voltage charging, it could be on its way out.

When (not if) you check your battery terminals and clean them, slip one of those treated felt washers on to delay the inevitable battery post corrosion crud.
