Coolant comes out around the thermostat and Checking Engine light on

The coolant leaking out from the thermostat is from a failing gasket or loose bolts. Make absolutely certain that your coolant level is about the "low" mark in the recovery tank.

The "check engine" lamp indicates an error code has been set; see the FAQ under Engine-OBD Codes for information.
