Distributor Pin question

There should be good details for this operation, either in the FAQs or the archives. I know John Sargent has put some good info out because I used it when I replaced my seal.

I have access to a very well equipped machine shop, and I used a piece known as a "V-block", which is a rectangular block of metal with a "V" groove down the long top face of the block. Lay the shaft in this V and it supports the shaft completely while you knock the pin loose. You'll have to watch and stop before you knock the pin into the bottom of the V, but at this point the pin should be fairly easy to tap out with alot less force. Use the V-block again to re-install and you're good to go.

HTH,
