The airflow through the motor is from above ( from intercooler/hose before plate) to the intake below (head, after plate) and the hoses should follow that logic, and the arrow on the valve should be consistant with all that. Good luck. I just did the mixture and base idle as final tweaks in a restoration of a "flathood" turbo and the car is like new. Just needs a clutch now.
