Well I am not so sure I would take apart a good looking unit. The chrome face must come off and it is crimped on at the factory. I have been able to open one up before, but it took alot not to just grab a hammer and beat the H@## out of the thing. A large flathead screw driver and a delicate touch will open it up. Once repaired it broke again within two hundred miles. The solution for me was to send the unit to one of the speedo pros listed in Rolling and for $140 it now works.
Now about that Tach reading high......
Don't you guys just love British Parts!!! How could the same guys who built the Spitfire and Hurricane build this junk???
