Yeah -- that car's worth $4000. Don't expect to be able to
sell it for $4000 if you buy it and decide you're hard up for
cash, but it is definitely worth 4 grand.
You'll want to take up the carpets and look at the floors,
especially in the rear foot area. Also look to make sure
the doors are solid since most 122s even california cars have
rusty doors and floors. The doors tend to fill up with leaves
and crap and that crap holds moisture which rusts the doors
from the inside.
Also look at how that remote shifter was installed. Hopefully
it was welded up correctly. I've seen them where they were
rivited instead of welded.
Does it have a brake booster? Does it have the 122 2 circuit
master cylinder for the brakes? If it does, be careful -- those
are very hard to find since they were only in the USA for 68 and
a piece of 67 and parts places like the dealership and RPR don't
tend to stock them. It's best to find a junk one and have it
sleeved.
That car is probably worth quite a bit more than $4k.
