Oil Pan Leaks

Be sure to check what Smitty said. If you still have problems, use some Permatex aircraft grade gasket sealant. I had one give me problems and this took care of it. Check that your bolt holes in the pan are distorted---may need to hammer them back slightly, and get rid of all old gasket materials. A good clean surface helps. John Sargent recommended the aircraft grade of Permatex and it works. Stays soft and pliable and stays on your hands too. BTW, the gasket that gave me problems was aftermarket and I feel acted as a wick with oil. Was ok at first and then just kept oozing.

Good luck,

dick
