Acceleration Bogging Down 200 1987

Tony,
That's an interesting idea - I had never thought of the catalytic converter.

There is just no consistency to this, that's why it's hard to diagnose. I drive 43 miles to work and within the first 5 miles it was bogging down over a long bridge into St. Louis. I had to pull over on the bridge with heavy traffic, turn the car off, start it, and it ran like new all the rest of the way. Some days I have to stop/restart 2-3 times. It doesn't matter whether the vehicle is cold or hot, it will still do it. Fuel level doesn't matter whether the tank is all the way filled up (as I did before I even left for work this morning).

How can I check the CAT?
Tom
