Fuel Pump on 78 242 GT

I guess you mean the accumulator diaphram? The accumulator is separate and nest to the fuel pump but is also expensive. I would try a used pump/accumulator to see if it is better. Becareful to match the correct pump/year. The accumulator should maintain considerable pressure after the pump runs. Enough pressure to blow fuel several feet when you open the line at the accumulator output side. You could check it there for lack of pressure.
