fuel pump replacement 700 1988

Just make sure you really 'need' a new pump before you go and replace it...
I recommend a 'second' opinion.

I took my car to an independent Volvo shop that happened to be close to my work because I had a terrible rattle in the front end, the indy guy said I needed new ball joints and that the wheel bearings needed to be serviced and that the shocks where worn out.

Well, I said I wanted to fix the 'rattle' and that I did not want to spring for all that work at one time, and asked him what he thought was the most likely cause of the noise? He said he could not be sure but he recommended the balljoints and bearings... So, I went ahead and had that done. Well, It did nothing to fix the 'Rattle' which is the one thing what I went in there for. Needless to say, I did not go back to him for the new shocks nor will I recommend this guy to anyone. He also charged 3 times as much for the ball joints than they sell for on some of the Web sites I have checked... ( I don't want to mention the name here, but if you live in So. Ca and you want to avoid this place, you can E-mail me and I will give you the info.

This experience just confirms what I already know... Just because someone has a shop and is wearing a blue shirt with a 'Volvo' patch, It does not neccesarily mean that they know what they are doing...

Thanks,
JJ
