I vaguely have an idea. It's for some radio accessory like an equalizer, remote, or something like that. The wire isn't used in my car either. When you buy an aftermarket radio it won't matter anyway- which I'd recommend rather than trying to get an equalizer or whatever. If you really want to know check the faq, then the archives.
