Lost my only key and dealer key does not work...

Two weeks ago I took my title to the Volvo dealer in Winston-Salem, NC and had a key made ($19 :{ ) and it does not work - at all - in any lock. I recently got my Volvo ('86 240 DL Wagon) and the PO only had one key and the plastic ring portion was broken off. I think one of the kids got it off the counter...

What is my best option now?

Can anyone else try making a key for it? I have the print out with the key codes from Greensboro Volvo dealer (they didn't have any blanks when I went there).
