I was careful about how I started the threads. I centered the pin in the control arm and started each bushing the same amount of turns until they the threads started to go in. I also made sure that the pin and arm were close to the proper running angle. I then alternated sides and screwed those things in. The manual states to screw them in until the flats touch the arm. Well without the use of the fixture, head of one bush did not seem to sit flat against the arm. This happened with both arms. I am hoping that since both arms are identical (except of course the side that the shock mount is on) and since the crooked bush was on the same side of the respective arms, that the crookedness is due to the manufacturing of the arm. I also found that I could tighten the bushes to the point where the pin did not move as freely, so I tightened each side up until the pin seemed a bit tight then backed them off until the pin was loose again. From looking at the system as a whole, I think everything will work out fine.

Of course the heads of the bushes are 23mm, one of the sizes not included in standard Craftsman socket sets (but they do have 21, 22, and 24). The used tool guy didn't have one, sears didn't sell a seperate one, but they did sell a 23mm in a set of add on sockets, final price was 30 bucks.

Thanks for your help, this one was a pain in the butt. Hopefully I won't have to touch those things again for another 40 years, except for greasing of course.
