Shift Lever Question 200 1986

Rob,

Thanks for the speedy reply. I have the same picture you provided in my old Haynes manual as well. Upon closely examining the graphic, I can see that it gives the knob the appearance of being in two pieces. It shows Item 1 as the "Shift Lever Knob, Upper Section" and Item 2 as the "Shift Lever Knob, Lower Section". Is there a possibility that they split apart?

Also, how does the housing (Item 10 in the graphic) and its contents remove from the car?
