speedometer problem - HELP!! 200 1981

I have replaced the 85mph speedo with a later mechanical unit. The only problem is that the old speedo has a secondary drive cable that goes to a little box attached to the dash, and generates an electrical signal that goes back to the instrument cluster via 2 red wires. The new speedo does not have a provision for the secondary drive cable, but it also has a couple of spade lugs on the back of the drive - where are these connectors in an '81 (I believe they should be yellow, green, and blue).
